At 1650m, Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village with it's routes still firmly set in a farming institution. Popular with tourists both in winter and summer, the stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau make it easy to see why. Don't miss the revolving restaurant at the summit, used in filming for Bond's 'Her Majesty's secret service'.
The area is another of Switzerlands stunning walking areas. Take the funicular to the Allmendhubel, immediately above the village and take your pick from themed walks. Follow the North Face Trail, for historical mountaineering information on the north faces, or if you prefer, there's the more discovery route of the Flower Panorama Trail. Take your time and make the most of the playgrounds and picnic areas along the way. If you're after something more demanding you can take a tour to the nature reserve at the rear of the Lauterbrunnen valley, as well as through the Sefinen valley and over the Sefinenfurgge pass into the neighbouring Kiental.
