So what's it like?

Lake Garda has long been a favourite holiday destination, with beautiful scenery, lots to see and do and an attractive climate throughout the summer.

Rich in history and culture, the resorts around the vast lake have a lot to offer; whether you want to stroll along promenades and sample a local wine in one of the piazzas, explore on foot or by bike or take to the lake on a cruise or a sailing boat.

The resorts of Riva, Limone and Malcesine at the northen end of the lake have a stunning mountain backdrop.

To the south, the resorts, such as Garda, Bardolino and Desenzano, are surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards. From Roman ruins and medieval architecture to botanical gardens and amphitheatres, the sights to see and enjoy are many. The shops offer many Italian specialities and finding hidden gems in narrow cobbled streets are the norm here. Furthermore, it's needless to say that – being Italy – great food is in abundance.

Explore the various locations on offer and you'll see there's something for everyone.
